Postgraduate

Postgraduate Diploma in Theology

The PGDT requires you to complete 120 credits at NQF level 8. You will do this by completing five 24-credit courses.

Since the PGDT caters for the needs of second-career pastors, we have designed the curriculum to meet two needs: (a) foundational knowledge and (b) professional expertise. The compulsory courses lay a broad theological foundation in the areas of the Bible and theology. The elective courses allow you to choose the topics that are most helpful for your ministry.

Do I Qualify?

Please note you may not register for the PDGT is you are curently enroled in a cognate programme with another institution.

To register for the PGDT, you need to have a three-year bachelor’s degree with an above average grade. Since the PGDT is intended to serve second-career theology students, your bachelor’s degree does not need to be in theology. If you hold the equivalent of a three-year bachelor’s degree, such as an Advanced Diploma on NQF 7, you should also qualify for the PGDT.
