About this course

This course is the first of two Logotherapy courses and should be completed before CCC4244 Logotherapy in Community It is designed to orientate the Christian counsellor within the logotherapeutic counselling space, exploring meaning in life, the purpose of suffering, and journeying alongside others towards living a meaningful life of virtue beyond self-actualization to Christ-actualization. By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Discuss the possibilities of Logotherapy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize meaning through conscience from a logotherapeutic perspective.
  • Show competence in using the tools/techniques/interventions informed by Logotherapy.
  • Critically evaluate logotherapy as a tool in Christian counselling praxis that is built on Bible-based, Christ-centred, Spirit-led theology.
  • Employ Socratic dialogue, de-reflection, and paradoxical intention as tools to self-distance and self-transcend towards Christ-actualization/Christlikeness.
  • Create a logotherapy counselling praxis model for your own context, adhering to best ethical practices.
