About this course
This course lays a foundation for post-graduate studies at SATS and introduces students to the history and core values of SATS, online learning and SATS online platforms, theological research, and writing skills. The course helps you to plan your postgraduate studies and reflect on its implications for life and ministry.
This course is the pre-requisite for all Bachelor of Theology Honours semester courses.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of SATS’s core values and online platforms.
Cultivate a hermeneutic of trust for Bible interpretation.
Evaluate the benefits and challenges of online theological education.
Apply strategies for self-care and personal motivation in postgraduate studies.
Master the SATS formatting standards to present written work that complies with these.
Identify and implement the skills required for overcoming the challenges of ethical research in theology, successfully.
Master SATS’s stance on plagiarism and Generative Artificial Intelligence, and the instruments used to determine similarity.
Synthesize academic integrity with personal spirituality, by taking full responsibility for decision-making and employment of resources in academic writing.
