About this course

Church Planting in Context offers an in-depth treatment of the ministry of church planting with reference to various contexts. The course begins with an empirical exposure of students to the practice of church planting. Then the biblical and theoretical foundations for effective and ethical church planting are examined before transitioning to the issue of sustainability and healthy leadership. By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Articulate the dynamics of church planting from real examples.

  • Formulate a biblical basis for church planting from the Book of Acts.

  • Evaluate existing church planting models.

  • Develop a biblically grounded, theologically informed, and contextually relevant church planting ministry plan in an African setting.

  • Cultivate a vision of healthy leadership for sustainable church planting.
