This research analyses and evaluates the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) theology of Pre-Advent Investigative Judgment (PAIJ), based on Scripture. This research begins with a historical analysis of the SDA church and the development of its theology of PAIJ. The research finds that the SDA church was born out of the Great Advent movement (Millerite movement) of the 19 th century in the United States of America. This movement, with its emphasis on a premillennial advent of Christ, underwent a Great Disappointment which resulted in the reevaluation of its theology of the Second Coming (and other theologies) through a long process of decades that produced the SDA church.
