Congratulations to Dr Caswell Ntseno, the new Vice-Principal and General Manager

It is a great delight and privilege to announce that Dr Caswell Ntseno has been appointed as the Vice-Principal and General Manager of SATS, with effect from the 1st of April. Dr Ntseno is taking over the office of General Manager from Doug Timberlake, who has served SATS with distinction since 2015. He has also been appointed to the Board of Directors.

To Doug: We want to say thank you for your partnership in the gospel. Thank you for your faithful service. You’ve impacted our team, our lives and our ministry in ways that we couldn’t even begin to express.

To Caswell: Hearty congratulations! God has raised you up for such a time as this. It is a pleasure to serve Jesus with you and we look forward to seeing the many amazing contributions you’ll make as our Vice-Principal of Operations, and to benefitting from the wisdom and perspective you will bring to the Board of Directors. May God bless you, anoint you, and use you mightily in that role.

In Loving Memory of Dr Batanayi Manyika

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr Batanayi Manyika, our esteemed Academic Dean, on Friday, 22 March. Batanayi was a cherished member of the SATS family, whose passion for sound theology deeply impacted our community and the lives of many students around the world.

Dr Manyika’s premature departure leaves a void in our hearts and our institution that will not easily be filled. We celebrate his commitment to academic excellence, his visionary leadership, and his love for the church in Africa.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Batanayi’s wife Vanesha, mother Rhoda, family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. We stand together in this time of grief, united in our gratitude for having been part of Batanayi’s life and his enduring legacy.

May his soul rest in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Congratulations to Dr Cornelia van Deventer, the Acting Academic Dean

At the same time as we grieve Dr Manyika’s passing, it is a pleasure and privilege to announce that Dr Cornelia van Deventer will be stepping into the role of the Acting Academic Dean.

Dr van Deventer has served SATS with distinction for the last six years; the last three and a half years as the head of our Faculty Research team. She has a PhD in New Testament studies from the University of Stellenbosch. She is dearly loved and highly competent. We would have loved to see her take this esteemed office under more joyful circumstances, but we cannot think of a better person to lead SATS’s academic team at this time and for the years to come.

Cornelia, we congratulate you, we stand with you,  and we look forward to seeing what God is going to do through you at SATS.
