This course lays a foundation for post-graduate studies at SATS and introduces students to the history and core values of SATS, online learning and SATS online platforms, theological research, and writing skills. The course helps you to plan your postgraduate studies and reflect on its implications for life and ministry.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of and engage with SATS’s core values and online platforms.
- Evaluate the benefits and challenges of online theological education.
- Apply strategies for self-care and personal motivation in postgraduate studies.
- Master the SATS formatting standards to present written work that complies with these.
- Engage critically with and evaluate various media forms (such as books, articles, blogs, videos, and news) while ensuring confidentiality, respecting cultural sensitivities, and applying informed consent principles.
- Master SATS’s stance on plagiarism and Generative Artificial Intelligence, and the instruments used to determine similarity.
- Synthesize academic integrity with personal spirituality, by taking full responsibility for decision-making and employment of resources in academic writing.
- Present written work according to SATS’s formatting standards.
