The Advanced Counselling Internship is designed to help the Christian counsellor understand the basic therapeutic process and how change occurs. It will practically guide the student-counsellor through all the phases of caregiving and counselling – equipping them with the essential counselling micro- and therapeutic skills for Christian counselling.
In this course emphasis will be placed on the practical application of the basic theoretical assumptions acquired in the first practicum course (CCC2129). Beginning counsellors will learn additional advanced counselling skills, but the focus will be on becoming competent practitioners as professional Christian counsellors. Interns will do actual counselling/therapy under supervision and learn to become proficient in their area of Christian counselling ministry.
