Introducing Our New Lecturers
Students will see a couple of new faces among our lecturers at the beginning of Term 3. SATS is very pleased to welcome to our staff family (pictured, from left to right):
- Dr Wilna Grey (BIB1122 – 1 Corinthians)
By God’s grace Wilna was born into a Christian home, raised on Christian values and introduced to Christ. At the age of 14 she accepted Christ as her Saviour and committed to follow him as Lord of her life.
Her professional background is in emergency medicine – a discipline that frequently requires critical situation analysis, crisis management and balancing competing priorities to resolve situations effectively. She has a passion for critically studying the Word of God.
- Mr Akheem Waqar (THE3123 – Apologetics)
Akheem was born and raised in a Christian family in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. During his middle school years, persecution started in his town and neighbouring cities. He was sent to stay with his grandparents and while there, during his high school years, under the ministry of South Korean missionaries from Campus Crusade for Christ, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. He is married and became a father this past month.
He became a foreign representative for the Apostolic Faith Mission of Pakistan in 2010. He came to South Africa to further his studies and was appointed at Woord & Lewe (AFM of SA) where he serves as Training Network Academy Manager of the Marketplace Academy.
- Mr Gurson Fortuin
Gurson became a Christian at the age of 19 when the Lord convicted him of his sins when the Lord appeared to him in a dream.
He is the Operations Manager at Cape Theological Seminary. He is also a lecturer, and the academic dean, of the SA School of Theology IAG Ministry School. He is currently busy with his MTh at SATS. He is married and has 2 sons.
His theological fields of interest are New Testament, Hermeneutics and Systematic Theology.
- Dr Gabriel Ndhlovu (THE3123 – Apologetics)
Dr Gabriel grew up in Polokwane, Limpopo and went to school in Nelspruit. He studied with the African School of Missions and UP (BA and MTh) and has been involved with SATS a number of years, initially facilitating courses in the undergraduate programmes. He went to South Korea, where he served in a congregation and later became a lecturer in a local institution. After completing his PhD with SATS he became a supervisor in the SATS postgraduate programmes. He currently resides with his family in South Korea where he is an Assistant-Professor at the Kosin University in Busan.
