New Testament Studies provides students with advanced skills in exegetical analyses, theological construction and pastoral critical reflections skills to enable them to make fruitful contributions to the Christian Church, scholarly guild and academy and the society at large. The postgraduate honours degree in general serves a three-prong purpose.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • For some, it offers an opportunity to dig deeper into fascinating concepts and ideas or further develop skills they acquired from their undergraduate degree.
  • For others, it sharpens their cognitive insights and practical abilities as they serve in different capacities of ministry in an increasingly complex world.
  • And yet for a third group, the honours degree is an indispensable bridge to further studies as it lays the foundations for the requisite skills of the academic rigours of postgraduate research.
