Mr. Afrika Mhlophe
Afrika Mhlophe is a gifted teacher of the Bible who ministers in various platforms in South Africa and abroad. He runs and facilitates workshops and seminars for companies focusing on leadership, diversity, wellness, time-management, etc.
He hosts a TV and radio program called ‘Pressing Matters’ which deals with contentious and contemporary issues from a biblical perspective. He is a sought-after speaker and thinker who has addressed thousands of men at Mighty Men Conferences throughout
South Africa. He is the author of four books, including the South African best-seller, Freed by God but Imprisoned by Culture. Afrika is a PhD candidate with Trinity College.
Dr. Shaun Joynt
Dr. Shaun Joynt is a lecturer at the University of South Africa and a postgraduate supervisor at the South African Theological Seminary. He holds a PhD in Practical Theology from the University of Pretoria. Dr Joynt has been in pastoral ministry for more than 20 years, serving in rural, online, and megachurch contexts, in the areas of pastoring, worship leading, youth ministry, children’s ministry, and missions. He has a passion for clergy well-being and completed his doctorate on the topic of why clergy leave full-time ministry. He has published on church leadership, clergy in film, clergy calling, clergy conflict, social transformation, religious/spiritual struggles, human flourishing, digital ecclesiology, and forgiveness research from a positive psychology perspective.
Professor Nicolene Joubert
Prof Nicolene Joubert is a Christian Psychologist and Trauma Therapist. She holds a PhD in psychology and is currently an Associate Professor of Christian Psychology at
Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas. She teaches various courses in Christian psychology and counselling there. She is also the founder and head of the Institute of Christian Psychology in South Africa, now the Institute for Christian Practitioners (www.icp.org.za).
She has been a practicing psychologist for more than 39 years and counselled numerous adult survivors of abuse, stress-related issues, burnout, children, and families in distress from a systemic and holistic perspective. She is also a post-graduate supervisor at the South African Theological Seminary (SATS).
Nicolene is the chairperson of the Council for Christian and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC). She is also an executive board member of the European Movement of Christian Anthropology, Psychology and Psychotherapy (EMCAPP). She is currently the Director of the Society for Christian Psychology, division of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
Ms. Bev van Rensburg
Bev has an MTh in Practical Theology (Children in Crisis: Imperatives and Strategies for the Church in South Africa), and has lectured in Practical Theology, mainly in pastoral counselling courses, for over twenty years. She is the wife of past principal, Dr Reuben van Rensburg, and has three children and four grandchildren.
Bev has specialized in Trauma Training through LAMb International, mainly in Child Trauma-Informed Care, and Carer Competency, Adolescent Psychological Trauma and in Secondary Trauma (including Compassion Fatigue), and in TIR (Trauma Incident Reduction), and has written a paper on the emotional recovery of an adult woman – a case study and therapy in praxis.
Bev has been giving Trauma Training and Carer Competency three-day training courses in South Africa, abroad and online, since 2015.
