About this course
This course integrates theology and narrative counselling practice to teach Christian counsellors how to counsel people according to God’s plan. Student-counsellors will learn how to come alongside hurting people within the church context, according to God’s metanarrative as they re-author their lives as new creatures in Christ, co-authoring with the Spirit of God, towards preferred outcomes. It includes marriage and family counselling, counselling people with problems, and counseling in context through Bible-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-led narrative praxis.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Describe narrative Christian counselling within God’s metanarrative.
- Formulate narrative Christian counselling sessions according to God’s plan.
- Evaluate and resolve problems by applying best narrative Christian counselling practice.
- Apply relevant counselling skills in your context.
