About this course

This course is designed to explore meaningful responses of the Church into society, as a reflection of the Triune God, as responsible, free people living in their God-image-bearing design.

The invitation to embrace life’s tasks and personal mission is ever present, and the choice to take responsibility and engage is that which affords humanity meaning in life. This course teaches Christian counsellors to facilitate groups towards accepting their God given tasks.

The course exposes you to theory whilst simultaneously activating logotherapeutic skillsets through a progressive learning mechanism. Logotherapeutic skills are utilized to teach theory, and the resulting learning is brought into creating unique outcomes, first as individuals, and then in groups. This is self-discovery invited into self-transcendence and embracing God’s calling, which is the predominant theme of this course.

You will be utilizing tools to unpack the theory which will be useful in your practicum and future praxis. The integration of theology and logotherapeutic praxis through every module culminates in you not only having solidified your theological foundations but also being equipped with the counselling skillsets required to facilitate group learning, stimulating change within the church and activating movement beyond the Church into the world.

  • The course requires 20 hours of logotherapy conversation.
  • 6 hours of supervision (lecturer, pastor and participants)
  • 6 hours of group supervision ( 4 x 1.5 hour sessions)
