About this course
This course is based on the ethical values and standards documents created by the Council for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC), South Africa. The course focuses on ethical competence for Christian counsellors in the church and local community and is designed to empower Christian counsellors to explain, remember and commit to core ethical values and standards for safe, excellent praxis.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Understand core ethical values and standards in Christian counselling.
- Explain key ethical principles related to informed consent and client autonomy.
- Explain the ethical standards surrounding duties to colleagues, other practitioners and self in Christian counselling.
- Apply ethical principles in maintaining professional practice and duties to society.
- Demonstrate understanding on how to synthesize Scriptural principles with professional ethical standards.
