About this course
This is an introductory course for those called to lay Christian counselling. It focuses on the definition of lay Christian counselling and its biblical basis . In the final module, the definition and biblical basis relate to a practical experience of lay Christian counselling.
This is the pre-requisite for all the other courses in the Higher Certificate of Christian Counselling programme.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Define and describe lay Christian counselling.
- Describe God's compassion for humankind, especially those encountering hardship.
- Describe the role of Jesus as Redeemer and Healer in Christian counselling.
- Describe the role of the Holy Spirit in transformation.
- Connect the definition of lay Christian counselling with practical experience.
