June marks the 25th anniversary of the South African Theological Seminary, and we want to use this milestone as an opportunity to reflect on God’s grace and faithfulness to us and our students. Over the coming months, keep your eyes peeled for the various anniversary celebration initiatives from SATS, as we release them on our website, our social media accounts and in our newsletters.

Anniversary Special Discount Offerings

We are happy to announce a 25th Anniversary Special Discount that will run from 1st July to 31st December 2021. SATS is offering two special discounts:

  • 25% Off Enrolment Invoice
New applicants who have paid their application fee, have been accepted, and decide to enrol for a program, will receive a 25% discount on their enrolment invoice. This discount is for new applicants enrolling for the first time, and applies to the enrolment fee and the compulsory orientation subjects (THE1120, GEN4121, or MRS5240, depending on the programme).
  • 25% Off First Invoice of Next Programme
This discount is for graduates who decide to study further, or those who are finishing a program and commit to the next one, between 1st July and 31st December 2021. These students will receive a 25% discount on their first invoice for the new programme. The discount can apply to multiple courses (maximum 4), provided the courses all appear on the 1st invoice into the programme.

Terms and Conditions: If you meet the criteria for either of these discounts, and the invoice is issued in the above timeframe, the discount will be automatically applied. Invoices must be paid by the 31st of December 2021 for the discounts to apply. The special anniversary discount will override all other discounts, including bulk purchase discounts and partnership discounts.

New Bachelor of Theology Honours Program

SATS now offers two concentrations in our BTh Honours programme: the General Theological concentration and the new Christian Counselling concentration. The first course in the Christian Counselling concentration (CCC4240: Advanced Counselling Skills Practicum Internship) will be launched in Term 3 (starting on 1 August 2021) and the full program in 2022.

Firstly, the General Bachelor of Theology Honours provides a broad range of courses in Biblical studies, systematic theology, missions, ministry, and required courses in research design and methodology. You have considerable freedom to choose elective courses that fit your interests and ministry priorities. You should prefer this option if your motivation is to prepare for pastoral ministry, missions, teaching, or if you are preparing to continue your graduate studies. Secondly, the Bachelor of Theology Honours with a Concentration on Christian Counselling is for those who are preparing to serve as professional Christian counsellors, and if you are considering continuing to a Masters in Christian Counselling.
