Welcoming our new Academic Dean

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Dr Batanayi Manyika to Academic Dean from January 2021. After serving for several years in a part-time capacity with SATS, while completing his PhD (New Testament), he joined us full-time in 2019 as the Coordinator of Faculty Research.

Graduation 2021 – A New Form of Celebration

As we face the reality that mass gatherings are still unlikely to be viable in the first half of next year, and that we will have about 500 graduates to celebrate with, SATS has opted for a Virtual Graduation. The Graduation Ceremony will be broadcast online on the SATS YouTube Channel on 22nd May 2021 and made available for viewing from then onwards. This will give flexibility for personal celebrations to be staged on the 22nd or at a later stage for different needs/time-zones. We are inviting graduates to arrange special gatherings with families, friends and church family, to view the broadcast and celebrate their achievement together. More information will be sent to the graduating students in the coming weeks.

Book the Dates: SATS e-Conference (17-18 March 2021)

The Call for Papers for SATS’s 2021 e-conference, “Jesus and the Fourth Gospel” is officially live. SATS is inviting scholars and Christian practitioners to join us from 17–18 March 2021 as we explore the Fourth Gospel, its central character, rich landscape, and life-giving message.

The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Paul N. Anderson (George Fox University) and the plenaries are Prof. Elizabeth Mburu (Pan Africa University; Langham; North-West University) and Dr. Annang Asumang (South African Theological Seminary). To view the Call for Papers and submit an abstract, click here. The e-conference will also feature Student Paper sessions—shorter slots reserved for Master’s and Doctoral students. Submissions close on 22 January 2021. Registration for the conference (which will be free) will open in 2021.

For any enquiries, please feel free to email Dr. Cornelia van Deventer ([email protected]) or Mr. Izaak Connoway ([email protected]).
