Counsellor’s Corner – August: What has God taught you through your winter season?

(Artwork)

“…participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead” (Philippians 3:10–11, NIV).

As winter draws to a close and signs of spring begin to appear, we are reminded that difficult seasons do not last forever. Mental health reminds us that hope is not denial, but endurance with expectation. Paul did not seek suffering, but he allowed it to deepen his faith while keeping his focus on God’s ultimate promise. As you reflect on the months behind you, consider how challenges may have shaped you rather than defined you. Perhaps resilience has grown, perspective has deepened, or trust in God has been strengthened. God does not waste pain; He redeems it. Even when change is not yet fully visible, we can hold on to the hope that He is at work beyond what we can see, bringing growth, renewal, and life.
