On Friday, 15 May 2026 at 14:00 CAT, Dr. Corné J. Bekker will speak on “‘I am with you always’ (Matthew 28:20): Enthymematic and argumentative discourses on miracles in the rhetorelects of the Synoptic Gospels.”

Dr. Corné J. Bekker joined Regent University in 2005 and was appointed Dean of the School of Divinity in December 2015. He previously served as associate dean for academics at Rhema Bible College in Johannesburg, South Africa, and held various leadership positions at Regent, including chair of the Department of Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry and professor of Biblical and Ecclesial Leadership. Dr. Bekker received Regent University’s 2010 Chancellor’s Award for outstanding scholarship, teaching, and service. He has also served as an extraordinary professor for the Research Unit for Reformed Theology at Northwest University in South Africa. He is the founding editor of the Journal of Biblical Perspectives in Leadership and the Journal for Renewal Theology. His research interests include the Gospel of Matthew, biblical perspectives in leadership, Christology, prayer, and biblical hermeneutics.
