The Historical Books

This course provides an overview of the twelve historical books of the Old Testament, from Joshua to Esther. You will learn how to read historical narratives responsibly. You will become familiar with the content and themes of the twelve historical books. By the end of this course you should be able to:

• Demonstrate understanding of how to interpret narrative texts soundly.
• Express informed convictions regarding introductory issues (e.g., author, date, purpose, unity).
• Demonstrate familiarity with the content of each of the historical books.
