About this course

This is a foundational treatment of the nature and purpose of the church. Specifically, we will delve into the nature of the church, the life of the local church, ROADS (Relationship, Outreach, Anointed, Doctrine, Structure), the key values of the local church, and principles of local church membership.

Learning Objectives

1: Appreciate the church as the only institution initiated by God.

2: Summarise, defend, and apply a biblical understanding of the purpose, meetings, philosophy, ministry, and relationship of the triune God to the local church.

3: Explain, adopt, and apply ROADS as a framework for building a healthy local church.

4: Embrace and practice key biblical values for church life.

5: Paraphrase your church's statement of faith.

6: Commit to a local church where you enjoy the benefits and perform the obligations of a member.
