General Letters

This course explores in some detail the seven short, "general" or "catholic" letters that appear shortly before the end of the New Testament, namely: James, 1–2 Peter, 1–3 John, and Jude. By the end of this course you should be able to:

• Evaluate the authorship, date, and historical occasion of each general letter.
• Outline and describe the literary structure of each general letter.
• Explain the main theological themes of the general letters.
