Depression and Anxiety Christian Counselling

This course equips Christian counsellors to understand, assess, and respond to anxiety and depression with clinical insight and biblical faithfulness. Beginning with foundations in psychology and Scripture, students examine outsider witness practices to nurture identity in Christ and reduce shame. Through practical exercises, they develop listening, reflection, and empowerment skills. Finally, the 5E Model of Christian Counselling is applied to guide clients from anguish to agency, fostering resilience, hope, and Christlike transformation. Emphasising safe referral boundaries and contextual sensitivity, the course prepares counsellors to serve compassionately and effectively within the South African church and community.
