About this course
This course equips Christian counsellors to strengthen their personal sexual integrity while gaining tools to support clients who struggle with sexuality and develop an informal network of care communities, for example, prayer groups, telephone support., etc. Through self-reflection and the application of the 5E Model of Christian Counselling, students will examine the causes, process, and aftermath of sexual immorality. The course emphasizes personal growth, practical prevention strategies, and the facilitation of restoration and reconciliation. Students will learn to support clients in addressing emotional pain, ending harmful behaviours, and rebuilding trust through counselling practice, under supervision By integrating personal development and counselling skills, the course prepares participants to support others with empathy, professionalism, within a Christ-centred framework, aligning with the Council for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC) level 3 designation.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Describe personal emotional drivers and vulnerabilities that lead to sexual immorality through self-awareness and insight into biblical principles
- Explain the causes, process, and aftermath of sexual immorality to identify risk factors and patterns.
- Develop personal and professional strategies to prevent immorality, including practical safeguards in workplace, travel and online settings.
- Apply a Christ-centred perspective on sexuality, marriage and singleness through the 5E Model of Christian Counselling in a supervised holistic Christian counselling setting.
- Demonstrate approaches to end immoral relationships, address their emotional aftermath, and rebuild trust and faith in God's restorative power through the 5E Model of Christian Counselling.
