About this course
In recent years this subject has largely become a pseudo–scientific analysis of why and how churches grow. In this course, you will be required to examine the basis for current church growth theory and practice and to compare them with Biblical principles. You will evaluate the theories and research findings of the main proponents within the church growth movement. You will also seek to find suitable applications of these concepts to church planting and church renewal. By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Describe the Biblical warrant for church growth and to be able to identify the signs of a healthy church.
- Identify the principles of qualitative and quantitative church growth and to know how to apply them within your particular situation.
- Recognise possible socio-economic and cultural limitations that may affect church growth and be able to develop a growth strategy within your church’s particular cultural or social situation.
