The Editorial Board is an international group of scholars appointed by the Conspectus Editor in consultation with the SATS Management Team to provide accountability and professional input in the running of the journal.

At least two-thirds of the Editorial Board consists of scholars with no formal affiliation to SATS. Members do not review articles but serve in an advisory role. Their responsibilities include familiarizing themselves with the journal's values, scope, and aims, performing a high-level reading of each volume (twice per year), completing a short bi-annual report, and attending two Editorial Board meetings annually.

The bi-annual report includes:

• Feedback on the last edition
• Suggestions for upcoming editions
• Suggestions for potential reviewers, Editorial Board members, authors, articles, and books to review

All Editorial Board meetings are held online via video-conferencing. Meetings are recorded, and minutes are archived by the Associate Editor. An Editorial Board chairperson, appointed for a two-year period (four journal issues), chairs the bi-annual meetings.

Onboarding procedure

Potential Editorial Board members are identified by the existing board and/or Editorial Team. Public applications are not standard. The Editor invites candidates via email to submit a CV, photograph, biography, and 3–4 articles for consideration. These are uploaded to the EB Member Documentation folder in Teams by the Administrator. Once accepted, candidates sign the "Editorial Policy and NDA Agreement for Editorial Board Members" (Appendix H). New members' details are added to the Editorial Board Details document and welcomed at the next meeting.
