Good morning SATS family,
I am speaking to you with a heavy heart, as daily I receive tragic reports about staff and students suffering as a result of Covid-19. Some are stories of people who are sick and fighting for their lives. Others are about the tragic loss of loved ones. The ones I hear less often, but which are no less real, have to do with people enduring extreme pressures as a result of Covid. It might be the pressure of nursing sick loved ones or the pressure of doctors, nurses, counsellors, and pastors caring for the sick and the grieving.
We are living through the most abnormal situation in our lifetime. This cannot be “life as normal.” The rules and policies we have in place at SATS were not designed for these circumstances. We need to have special provisions for those who are infected or deeply affected by the pandemic.
